Blog Tour Review: Touch by Jus Accardo

I'd like to thank Entangled Publishing, Jus Accardo and Trisha Wolfe for giving me the opportunity to be apart of this blog tour! I couldn't have asked for a better book to be my first experience in a tour.

Title: Touch
Author: Jus Accardo
Series: Denazen
Pages: 251
Format: Kindle
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Published: November 1st 2011
Goodreads | Amazon | Book Depository
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there's something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she'll turn to dust if he touches her.

It's not until Dez's father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there's more to this boy, and her father's "law firm," than she realized. Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation -- an organization devoted to collecting "special" kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons -- his entire life.

And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills.

The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they're caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.
Touch by Jus Accardo was a whole heap of fun! I was so excited to read this, and bought the ebook on Kindle as soon as it was released in October! but I only got around to reading it last week because I've been so busy with uni.

And I'll just say... oh boy I'm so glad that I got this, it was fantastic!

Dez was a very 'real' sounding teen heroine, we start off with a party, Dez is drunk and heckling other teens into doing something crazy... like jumping off a roof! Teenagers tend to do a lot of idiotic things like this; but it's usually the guys who do so... but not in this book!

Dez is a thrill seeker and gives us an instant feeling that she is 'one of the guys' with her crazy antics, which I loved! It was very refreshing compared to all the goody-goody straight laced mature sounding teens out there in YA fiction these days (don't get me wrong teens can be mature and being a goody-goody isn't bad, I just found this a refreshing change!).

So we have this very 'real' sounding heroine with very 'real' sounding surroundings... that all changes when Kale appears, literally at Dez's feet! And what does Dez do with this boy that pops out of nowhere being chased by adults? Take him home of course! (hell, I would've done the same thing) All in order to piss off her dad... making me love her immediately.

Then the (excuse my language) shit really hits the fan.

Dez has always known that her father was an ass, but she never knew how evil the bastard really was until Kale appeared. The two then go on the run to find out the truth and give Denazen Corporation and Dez's father hell in the process... which was one hectic ride, I could barely wait to see what Kale and Dez would do next and can't wait to get my hands on book two!

Kale and Dez were fantastic characters, Dez's up front, hell bent sarcastic attitude compared with the naive Kale who's been locked up most of his life, definitely had its hilarious moments as well as its sigh worthy and steamy ones!

They were a fantastic couple and I can't wait to read more from them in book two! They've been through so much and, as much as I loved the innocent child-like reactions Kale brought into the mix, I'm looking forward to seeing a new side to him in book two now that he's out in the big bad world and has some experience with how things work.

(Random note: Kale reminded me a lot of Nawat from Tamora Pierce's Tricksters Choice and Queen series! So if you're a fan of Nawat, you'll love Kale.)

Also, any guy with kick ass ninja skills has my vote!

I loved the world that Jus created... who can't love a real sounding heroine combined with magical twists and turns that will leave you gaping and eagerly turning the pages for more? I definitely couldn't!

There's so much that I haven't been able to cover in this review, so I can only hope I've intrigued you enough to pick up Jus Accardo's amazing debut novel! It is definitely worth the read, Jus is definitely an author to keep your eyes on!
