Title:
A Devil & Her Love Song Vol.1
Artist: Miyoshi Tomori
Type: Manga
Anime-Planet | Book Depository | Amazon | Goodreads
Meet Maria Kawai - she's gorgeous and whip-smart, a girl who seems to have it all. But when she unleashes her sharp tongue, it's no wonder some consider her to be the very devil! Maria's difficult ways even get her kicked out of an elite school, but this particular fall may actually to out to be her saving grace...

Maria's frank nature gains her more enemies at her new school, but her angelic singing voice inadvertently catches the attention of Yusuke Kanda and Shin Meguro. Can these boys mend her hardened heart, or will they just end up getting scorched?
A Devil and Her Love Song is a really cute manga about a girl named Maria who is almost too honest for her own good, she's sincere and such a cute character, but her beautiful looks and frank attitude intimidate most everyone around her.

Everyone thinks that she is a delinquent because of her attitude, also she was expelled from her last school, which was an elite all girls school (you find out later about why she was expelled). And because of her good looks the girls bully her... albeit with mixed results as Maria doesn't back down.

Although all is not lost and Maria gains the attention of two boys when she sings 'Amazing Grace' with her stunning singing voice, one is Yusuke, the most popular guy in class who is happy all the time (or at least pretends to be - there are hidden depths there for sure!) and the class rebel Shin - who's really the top student in class and really nice, but is pretty grumpy, sullen and likes to keep to himself.

I think both are a really good combo for Maria and they stick by her and try to translate for her and get her to loosen up and get to know everyone better.

I love Shin, he's so cute, he acts disinterested with everything around him, but watching Maria be misinterpreted annoys him and he shocks the class by taking an interest by yelling at them all and dragging her to the infirmary when she is standing on her injured foot, trying to take the blame for something she didn't do.

There's Shin being all cute!

Maria is such a cute oblivious character that has no idea that these two boys by the end of the manga like her more than just a friend, but she is just happy having friends that she doesn't even consider, let alone understand what love, or like is! Her love of all things cute is adorable also, especially since everyone doesn't think it matches her character... until they get to know her!

This is a great manga, I recommend it to everyone who enjoys a cute and enjoyable read! The next volumes will prove to be very interesting indeed! I hope Shin wins in the end though!
